"What do I do to make you love me?" That was a question that was consistently asked but forever unanswered. Isoken did not just ask for reference purposes. She asked because she needed to breathe. She needed to understand and be understood. But most of all, she needed to be loved. What did she do wrong? Why was she unlovable? She did everything she could imagine to arrest Osamu' s attention but to no avail. If there was one word - just one collection of syllables that could perfectly describe Osamu is DISTANT.
He never cuddled, discussed or listened. He avoided her lips and in occasions where he had to "tolerate" her, he was irritant of everything she uttered and didn't utter. But wait a second. Is that how he treated other girls?
Isoken was not the only pretty girl in school. Some girls were stunning like Esosa. Others were cure like Esohe. Some even had body shapes that kept boys drooling like Ivie. But there was one girl that was irresistible - Osarugwe. Hmmm… Osarugwe. The effect Osarugwe had on the males was inexplicable. It's like each time she talked, walked or laughed, everything else was on hold. She was not be pretty but she inspired confidence, femininity, and seductiveness - all coming naturally. She carried herself in a way that she was not to follow but to be followed. Girls would associate with her just to satisfy their sense of belongingness and guys would flock around her to satisfy their desire to flirt. Her catwalk was inviting. Her fair - skin was glowing. Her hourglass body was captivating. Captivating who? Osamu. Isoken 's Osamu.
Isoken saw him. She saw Osamu talk to her, smile at her, touch her hair, play with her, buy her snacks and literally kissed the floor she walked on. Did Osarugwe flirt back? No. She was being the feminine Osarugwe they all knew! She was being herself. But that made Isoken enraged. Isoken hated Osarugwe for stealing her man so effortlessly. Isoken did not stop there.
She watched Osarugwe at a distance. She stalked her on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Isoken had completed her statistics. Her rival had at least 23 comments on Facebook, 120 likes on Instagram and 53 retweets on Twitter. "I have never had that traffic on my social media profiles " Isoken would think. "I am not voluptuous like her, I am not attractive like her, I don't have many friends like her, I am not clever like her". Isoken's piercing thoughts began with "I am not" and ended with "like her". Her mind became a poisonous, hurtful battlefield. Isoken was Jealous of Osarugwe.
Isoken hated herself for being unable to compete with Osarugwe. But she loathed herself for not making Osamu love her back. "My very existence depends on Osamu 's approval", she would think.
One day, on their way back from school, Isoken dragged Osamu behind an uncompleted building. Isoken was exhausted, scared and intoxicated by her jealousy.
This time, Isoken did not ask the usual question. Rather, Isoken demanded to know. So she asked : "What does Osarugwe do that I don't?" Osamu was emotionless as usual. He asked : "Do you really want to know?" "Yes", she replied trembling. Then he said : "Have sex with me"
Our dear readers, what do you think? Would Isoken agree? Was sex really what Osarugwe give to Osamu? What will Isoken do?

Hmmmmm... .An unexpected twist, keeping me on my toes! I don't think sex was the problem but I want to know more. I still love it 😍
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, Isoken would most likely give in to his demands, but I don't think that's what Osarugwe used to keep him at the other end of her leash.
ReplyDeleteSex cant be the solution
